About Naloxone Hcl: Naloxone is used for the emergency treatment of known or suspected opioid overdose. Show more ▾

Serious opioid overdose symptoms may include unusual sleepiness, unusual difficulty waking up, or breathing problems (ranging from slow/shallow breathing to no breathing). Other symptoms of overdose may include very small "pinpoint" pupils, slow heartbeat, or low blood pressure. If someone has serious overdose symptoms but you are not sure if the symptoms are due to opioid overdose, give naloxone right away anyway, since lasting slow/shallow breathing may cause permanent damage to the brain or death. Since symptoms of opioid overdose may return after treatment, be sure to get medical help right away after giving the first dose of naloxone. This medication belongs to a class of drugs known as opioid antagonists. It works by blocking the effects of the opioid in the brain. A specific opiate antagonist that has no agonist activity. About Buprenorphine-Naloxone: This medication contains 2 medicines: buprenorphine and naloxone. Show more ▾

It is used to treat opioid use disorder. Buprenorphine belongs to a class of drugs called mixed opioid agonist-antagonists. Buprenorphine helps prevent withdrawal symptoms caused by stopping other opioids. Naloxone is an opioid antagonist that blocks the effect of opioids and can cause severe opioid withdrawal when injected. Withdrawal is less likely when naloxone is taken by mouth, dissolved under the tongue, or dissolved on the inside of the cheek. It is combined with buprenorphine to prevent abuse and misuse (injection) of this medication. This combination medication is used as part of a complete treatment program for opioid use disorder (such as compliance monitoring, counseling, behavioral contract, lifestyle changes). Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you should have naloxone available to treat opioid overdose. Teach your family or household members about the signs of an opioid overdose and how to treat it. About Belbuca: Buprenorphine is used to help relieve severe ongoing pain. Show more ▾

Buprenorphine belongs to a class of drugs known as opioid analgesics. It works in the brain to change how your body feels and responds to pain. Do not use this medication to relieve pain that is mild or that will go away in a few days. This medication is not for occasional ("as needed") use. A derivative of the opioid alkaloid THEBAINE that is a more potent and longer lasting analgesic than MORPHINE. It appears to act as a partial agonist at mu and kappa opioid receptors and as an antagonist at delta receptors. The lack of delta-agonist activity has been suggested to account for the observation that buprenorphine tolerance may not develop with chronic use.

In 2024, this provider wrote 11 Medicare prescriptions for Belbuca, about a third of the volume of the typical Ohio prescriber of this medication (37.8). Medicare paid an average of $637.40 per fill, versus $641.15 statewide.

About this data. The prescription history for MRS. AMBER NICOLLE ABUKWIEK APRN-CNP is compiled from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Medicare Part D Prescriber Public Use File for calendar year 2024, the most recent federal release. Because prescribing decisions are generally consistent across coverage types, this record offers a useful view of the overall Nurse Practitioner prescribing approach at this Columbus, OH practice.

Reading the costs. Drug costs are gross amounts paid to pharmacies under Part D, including both plan and beneficiary payments. They are not the price a patient pays at the pharmacy counter. Medications with fewer than 11 claims are excluded from the federal source data, and state comparisons use the average among OH prescribers of the same medication and form, shown only when at least five prescribers contribute. Always confirm current medications and costs directly with the provider and your plan.

About the medication summaries. Drug use descriptions come from the CMS Medicare Part D Drug Spending Dashboard (2024), and substance definitions from Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) 2026, U.S. National Library of Medicine. They are summaries that do not contain all possible information about a medication and are not individual medical advice. Ask a health care professional about any medication and your specific health needs.
