Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how NPI Profile ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit npiprofile.com. By using the Site you agree to the practices described below.
NPI Profile is a public reference site. The provider information displayed on this site comes entirely from the official NPPES public data release published by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). We do not collect that data from users or third parties.
1 What We Collect
When you browse NPIProfile.com, we automatically gather:
- The domain name of your Internet provider
- The date, time, and pages you visit
- The referring website address, if you clicked a link to reach us
- Browser type, operating system, and device information
If you email us or submit a message through our Contact page, we collect only the information you provide in that message and use it solely to respond to you. We do not add you to any mailing list or share your email address.
We do not collect names, addresses, Social Security Numbers, payment information, or any other personally identifiable information unless you voluntarily provide it in a message to us.
2 How We Use Your Data
We use the automatically collected data described in Section 1 solely to:
- Analyze aggregate traffic patterns and page popularity
- Identify and resolve technical issues
- Improve the design, performance, and content of the Site
This analysis is performed on anonymous, aggregate data. We do not attempt to identify individual visitors from automatically collected technical data.
3 Advertising and Cookies
We partner with third-party ad networks (including Google AdSense). They may place cookies in ads you see here, so those networks can show you ads based on your past visits. We do not access or share the data those cookies collect.
You can learn how Google handles data here:

4 Monetization Technologies
We use a third-party to provide monetization technologies for our site. You can review their privacy and cookie policy here.
5 Analytics
We use standard analytics tools to measure traffic patterns, popular pages, and referral sources. These tools may set their own cookies, but only to compile aggregate, anonymous reports. We do not use analytics data to identify individual users.
6 NPI Data and Provider Information
NPI Profile is a third-party aggregator of public government data. We do not control the content of NPPES records and cannot modify or delete individual provider records. If your information on NPI Profile is incorrect, the fix must be made at NPPES directly at nppes.cms.hhs.gov. Corrections will appear on NPI Profile automatically after our next weekly data refresh.
If you would like your profile removed from NPI Profile's public display while keeping your official NPPES record intact, use the NPI Profile Opt-Out tool. Opting out removes your profile from our site only and has no effect on your official government NPI record.
7 Security
We monitor our network and systems to prevent unauthorized access or alterations. While no system is perfectly secure, we follow industry-standard practices to protect the information we collect. We do not store sensitive personal data such as Social Security Numbers, payment information, or passwords on our servers.
8 Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under applicable privacy laws such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to request access, correction, or deletion of personal data we hold about you.
Please note that provider information displayed on NPI Profile is public government data published under FOIA. Because this data originates with CMS and not with NPI Profile, your right to deletion of that underlying data must be exercised directly through NPPES. For removal from NPI Profile specifically, use the Opt-Out tool.
To exercise any privacy right regarding data we hold directly, such as data from a contact message you sent us, please contact us and we will respond promptly.
9 Children's Privacy
NPI Profile is not directed at children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us and we will remove it promptly.
10 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or applicable law. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Your continued use of the Site after any change constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
11 Contact Us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, or wish to review, correct, or delete information we hold about you, please use our Contact page. We aim to respond to all privacy inquiries within a reasonable time.
