About Buprenorphine-Naloxone: This medication contains 2 medicines: buprenorphine and naloxone. Show more ▾

It is used to treat opioid dependence/addiction. Buprenorphine belongs to a class of drugs called mixed opioid agonist-antagonists. Buprenorphine helps prevent withdrawal symptoms caused by stopping other opioids. Naloxone is an opioid antagonist that blocks the effect of opioids and can cause severe opioid withdrawal when injected. It has little effect when taken by mouth or dissolved under the tongue. It is combined with buprenorphine to prevent abuse and misuse (injection) of this medication. This combination medication is used as part of a complete treatment program for drug abuse (such as compliance monitoring, counseling, behavioral contract, lifestyle changes). Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you should have other forms of naloxone available to treat opioid overdose. Teach your family or household members about the signs of an opioid overdose and how to treat it.

In 2023, this provider wrote 14 Medicare prescriptions for Buprenorphine-Naloxone, about a third of the volume of the typical California prescriber of this medication (41). Medicare paid an average of $231.45 per fill, versus $199.04 statewide.

About this data. The prescription history for RAINIER MARK ENRIQUE GUIANG M.D. is compiled from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Medicare Part D Prescriber Public Use File for calendar year 2023, the most recent federal release. Figures cover prescriptions filled for Medicare Part D beneficiaries only; prescriptions under private insurance, Medicaid, or self-pay plans are not included. Because prescribing decisions are generally consistent across coverage types, this record offers a useful view of the overall Pain Medicine prescribing approach at this Riverside, CA practice.

Reading the costs. Drug costs are gross amounts paid to pharmacies under Part D, including both plan and beneficiary payments. They are not the price a patient pays at the pharmacy counter. Medications with fewer than 11 claims are excluded from the federal source data, and state comparisons use the average volume among CA prescribers of the same medication. Always confirm current medications and costs directly with the provider and your plan.
