A penicillin derivative commonly used in the form of its sodium or potassium salts in the treatment of a variety of infections. A synthetic rifamycin derivative and anti-bacterial agent that is used for the treatment of GASTROENTERITIS caused by ESCHERICHIA COLI INFECTIONS. It may also be used in the treatment of HEPATIC ENCEPHALOPATHY.
